Topics on the wish list for education night included posing for portraits and how to take pictures of the moon so let's get together at Oak Creek Park (4403 25th St S, Fargo) at 6:30 and give it a try. We will set up lights in the Gazebo and share ideas for posing. It is also almost a full moon that should rise just after 7 so we will also have some tips for photographing the moon. We can also do light trails from the cars on 25th St and possibly some other light painting activities.
Please let us know if you have any other ideas for activities and if you will be able to attend.

January 20, 2022
January’s education night will include a presentation on using layers, layer masks, and blend modes in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. That, and other post-processing topics, are probably best demonstrated on Zoom.
Down the road a bit we’ll try to gather in person for light painting, macro photography and perhaps even some food photography.
January 27, 2022
Streaming slideshow of the winning images from 2021 beginning at 6:30 PM. Program begins at 7:00.
Marc Ye is a landscape and travel photographer based in the Twin Cities. Since retiring from his career as a pilot for a major airline, Marc has enjoyed the freedom to travel extensively and embrace his lifelong passion for photography. His images often capture the interplay of light and moving water, or the moods of dense forest. As our guest speaker during the Annual Awards Evening Marc will share some of his images to entertain and inform us.
After Marc’s presentation we’ll move on to the awards and recognition, valuable door prizes, and finish up with the Best of the Best.

Discussion topics:
Finding Inspiration When You’re Not Inspired
A number of people have told me recently that they are feeling uninspired. Boredom,
frustration and a general malaise seem prevalent. This winter feels long, very cold, and the light
flat and gray. Folks feel overwhelmed by responsibility, crazy busy, and fearful of the future.
Truthfully, all of this describes my own emotional state. I don’t pretend to have answers, but I
am hopeful that together we can explore this month’s discussion topic, “Finding Inspiration
When You’re Not Inspired” and begin to call back the light. Please share your own concerns and
remedies.
Post-pro discussion topic:
Sharpening and Noise Reduction Techniques
What tools and techniques do you use in Lightroom or Photoshop?
Have you tried Topaz DeNoise AI, Sharpen AI, Gigapixel AI? How about other software?
Do you have a list of do’s and don’ts? Questions or challenges?
